Bonnie Golden
Founder, Program Director, and Lead Instructor
Bonnie has spent over 50 years dedicated to senior health, wellness, and fitness. She holds certifications in Older Adult Wellness, Senior Fitness, and Special Populations, and maintains credentials with the International Sports Science Association and the American Council on Exercise.
She founded Age Up Well Taos to ensure older adults have access to high-quality, affordable programs that build strength, balance, confidence, and connection. Her work is rooted in the belief that aging can be active, engaged, and full of possibility.
Bonnie blends experience, compassion, and practical expertise to help people stay independent and thrive. Outside of her work, she enjoys mountain biking, cross-country skiing, camping, and hiking with her husband and their one-eyed dog, Joey.
Meet Our Instructors
Kari Malen brings over 15 years of experience in yoga and movement, combining depth, skill, and a sense of play in everything she teaches. She also mentors future instructors through the UNM Yoga Teacher Training Program, sharing her passion with the next generation.
In addition to teaching, Kari offers Structural Integration bodywork to support ease, alignment, and comfort in the body. Her classes are thoughtful and accessible, helping participants build strength, improve balance, and move with greater confidence.
Kari helps Age Up Well participants stay active, connected, and doing what they love—on the mat and beyond.
Suki Dalury (she/her) is a mama, structural integrator, cranio-sacral therapist, herbalist, and lifelong student of the body. For over 30 years, she has turned to yoga and movement to support both mental and physical well-being.
Her teaching blends deep anatomical knowledge with a gentle, playful approach, inviting curiosity, ease, and connection. Improving balance, mobility, and body awareness while supporting independence, reducing fall risk, and fostering a stronger sense of home in the body is Suki's goal with AUWT participants.
Cat Shank offers a thoughtful, body-centered approach to movement, helping participants build awareness, mobility, and ease in their bodies. Her teaching emphasizes mindful movement and listening inward to support confidence and connection.
In addition to teaching, Cat offers eco-somatic nature meditation experiences, blending mindfulness with the natural world. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and dancing in the kitchen.
Cat helps Age Up Well participants feel more grounded, connected, and at home in their bodies—both in class and beyond.
Mechele Bowen began her work in health and wellness in 1983, with a lifelong commitment to helping older adults stay strong, independent, and engaged. As Program Director for Senior Health and Fitness in Garfield County, Colorado, she created Armchair Fitness classes that made movement safe and accessible for all abilities.
After becoming a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in 1999, she was a highly requested PTA with Mountain Home Health, helping patients regain strength, confidence, and quality of life at home.
Mechele brings decades of experience and compassion to AUWT, supporting participants in moving better, feeling stronger, and staying connected.
